I used to write poetry a lot, when words just were not enough, somehow it helped. I want to share with you a poem I wrote in June 2003, when I was desperate for my mother’s love and I suddenly realised, she couldn’t give me what I needed, she never could. I was facing one of the toughest times in my life and this is one of the poems I wrote.
Inside I Scream
If you would have held me,
For just a while,
Long enough for me to smile.
But you couldn’t hold me as I screamed,
So desperate, inside of me.
I just needed to sit a while,
Long enough for me to smile,
But no, inside I scream.
Inside I scream and scream and scream,
There’s no one there for me to hold,
To rest a while,
Just long enough for me to smile.
